Jay Erickson is one of the founding partners of Modus, a digital agency based in New York City. As a strategist and leader, he has been designing and building digital experiences for 20 years in a wide variety of roles and industries.
In his role of Chief Innovation Officer he collaborates with clients to drive digital transformation and solve business problems. Jay works with clients to generate new ideas, strategies and experiences and bring those experiences to life. He is relentlessly focused on human-centered design and putting customers at the center of the process.
At Modus he also heads up the healthcare practice and has worked with clients from Cleveland Clinic, Ascension, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Pfizer, Amgen, GSK, Johnson & Johnson, Yale New Haven Health and The American Heart Association.
Jay is a contributor to industry innovation groups including NODE.Health and Junto Health. He regularly speaks at conferences and has written a number of articles that have appeared in industry publications including HealthCare Business Daily News and Healthcare Business Today. As a cancer survivor and patient advocate, Jay is deeply passionate about improving the digital experience of patients, clinicians and caregivers and unlocking the promise of information technology to improve outcomes.
Jay also helped found Modus Labs, an innovation initiative that has launched a number of products including CoopSnoop, a real estate search collaboration platform; BreadBox, a team estimation and prioritization tool; and Modivate, a team-based fitness tracking program with advanced visualization and storytelling. He also co-founded the podcasting technology company Sonibyte—where he helped develop the platform and launch key clients including Time, WIRED, Kiplinger’s and Discover Magazine.
He lives in Pawling, NY with his wife and two daughters where he serves on the boards of a number of organizations and dabbles in carpentry, beekeeping, poetry, music and permaculture.
